FINANCIAL PLANNING ANALYST / MANCHESTER / £35,000 PER ANNUM + BENEFITS

WEX Europe Services is a leading provider of Fuel cards operating across multiple European countries. We are a high volume, low margin business, reliant on improving the volume of sales to continue our revenue growth.

Due to ongoing growth, we are looking for a Financial Planning Analyst to focus on the volume performance of the business, how it impacts our financials, identify opportunities and support improvements in volume across the business and deliver the internal and corporate reporting associated with our volume performance.

Main goal and objective.

This role will focus on your ability to model future volumes by analyzing our historic performance. You will also need to build relationships across the organization to understand what will be different in the future, how risks, opportunities and strategic initiatives will affect sales levels, and then factor this insight into your models.

You will need to analyse actual volumes against your predictions and explain the variances, providing insight into customer behavior or operational activity that has driven these deltas. You will also need to analyse our current vs historic performance.

Most importantly you must be able to ‘see the wood for the trees’, we have a lot of dynamics impacting volume, you need to make sure that we focus on the most important ones to drive improved performance.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Highly skilled at dealing with large volumes of data in Excel and other tools, ideally Access, SQL, Power BI
  • Highly numerate, attention to detail and financial reconciliation.
  • Comfortable working within tight deadlines, managing multiple priorities and turning information around quickly
  • Strong organisational skills and self-review discipline with excellent communication skills to relay key findings.
  • Able to learn new skills and systems quickly, with a questioning approach to the role.
  • Ability to summarise and contextualise performance – understand what it means to the business, what is valuable information to report on and what should be left out
