The London Cremation Company plc is Great Britain’s oldest cremation authority and its principal activities are carrying out cremations and providing memorials at its crematoria.

We own and operate crematoria in Woking, Great Britain’s first crematorium, our most prestigious at Golders Green in London and various other sites across the South of England.

As we continue to expand our operations, we are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager, with the ability to forge excellent relationships with existing and new clients across the South of England.

Key Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager:

  • Regularly meet with the Funeral directors/clients face to face, foster and develop strong relationships
  • Identify new prospective clients and nurture good working relationships with them
  • Understand the needs of our customers and respond effectively with a plan of how to meet them
  • Communicate market needs and trends internally to allow for effective product development
  • Deliver integrated solutions in professional presentations
  • Pursing leads and moving them through the sales cycle
  • Researching, Planning, and implementing new target market initiatives
  • Motivate Memorials advisors & colleagues by helping them to succeed
  • Continuous development of memorial sales from our range of services to our customers
  • Continuous monitoring of local and wider market competition
  • Support the development of the operational strategy and execute business performance targets
  • Recruit, train, and support development of Memorials team
  • Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive working environment, in line with company processes
  • Attending conferences, seminars and industry events where appropriate

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Solid experience in similar Business Development / Sales Manager position
  • A Full UK Driving Licence (Travel an essential part of this role)
  • Experience of designing and delivering sales skills training
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive and professional working relationships
  • Flexible and adaptable, demonstrating a ‘can do’ positive and proactive attitude at all times
  • Excellent IT skills, with a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage workload independently and takes initiative
  • Strong attention to detail as well as ability to anticipate day to day requirements
  • Keen to learn and develop
  • Displays a strong drive to meet and exceed the needs of those they support
