CREDIT RISK MANAGER / MANCHESTER / HYBRID WORK / UP TO £45K + GREAT BENEFTIS
Exciting opportunity for a talented Credit Risk Manager to join a market leading organisation, overseeing a fantastic Credit Risk Department.

Our client is a rapidly expanding business, with offices across Europe. They pride themselves on their vibrant working environment and desire to help employees realise their potential.

They are looking for a Credit Risk Manager that can lead from the front, with the ability to motivate and mentor a dynamic group of Team Leaders. You will also be responsible for the European wide Vetting, Monitoring and portfolio management functions.

The Credit Risk Manager will initially be based at the Crewe Head Office, with the flexibility to work from home 2-3 days per week. In April 2022, they will be relocating to state-of-the art offices in Manchester City Centre.

Key Responsibilities of the Credit Risk Manager:

  • Responsible for the Operational management of all the Credit Risk functions
  • Management responsibility for a large team of Credit professionals
  • Mentoring the Team Leaders and driving their development
  • Management and ownership of the application process and monitoring actively drawing Customers by Country and Portfolio -  in line with commercial appetite vs bad debt levels
  • Managing potential strategic underwriting – Credit Committee, Insurance, Secured and Uninsurable
  • Perform and analyse higher approvals, escalations and high value Credit limit requests
  • Working with External Insurers and Brokers to minimize Uninsured exposure
  • Working with Credit reference agencies, ensuring service packages are maximized and delivered in line with contracts
  • Responsible for adherence to Credit Policy and Best practice relating to processes and procedures, managing and implementing continuous improvement of all Risk functions
  • Responsible for assessing and deploying risk strategies
  • Analyse portfolio level information to identify and monitor key risk factors
  • Strategize with Heads of Country / Sales to support Volume Growth
  • Be the “Credit Expert”, providing critical knowledge to support all Business Functions.
  • Partner with Data Governance Group to build the Credit Risk reporting
  • Accountable for Risk Department performance
  • Setting and driving strong engagement to Business goals by Country, Team and Individual
  • Maintain a strong focus on team leadership and development through coaching, training and mentoring, including customer, process, system, industry and product
  • Some international travel may be required

Skills & Experience required:

  • At least 5 years of credit/risk experience, with a minimum of 3 years management experience
  • Knowledge of underwriting in European Countries in a B2B environment
  • Effective Leadership – decision making, problem-solving, ability to lead and motivate
  • Demonstrate effective influencing and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop a team of Credit professionals
  • Ability to display a positive business presence and exercise sound judgment when interfacing with senior business leaders and personnel, external suppliers and colleagues.
  • Adaptable to organizational change requirements
  • Strong communication and people skills
