Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Inspector / Machinist

  • Inspection of incoming products
  • Ability to demonstrate mechanical inspection and measurement skills using inspection equipment
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers
  • Inspect machined parts and setup, adjust and operate basic machine tools to correct defects.
  • Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects
  • Study sample parts, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products
  • Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in the preparation of machinery work
  • Maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures
  • Working knowledge of basic quality requirements to conduct the piece-part inspection and final inspection

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Working knowledge of basic quality requirements to conduct the piece-part inspection and final inspection
  • Experience in machined component inspection
  • Background in Engineering / Manufacturing
  • Ability to operate various conventional machines (Milling machine, Lathe & Pillar Drill), and understand drawings
  • Strong communication skills
  • Positive approach, with a “can-do” attitude
  • Fully conversant with Geometric tolerancing
