Exciting new IT Support & Web Technician opportunity! Our client is a small IT Support and Services provider based at the University of Southampton Science Park in Hampshire.

They are expanding and therefore have an amazing opportunity for someone who is skilled in and enjoys both Web Support and Development, and IT Support, to join their dedicated and highly responsive team.

Key Responsibilities of IT Support & Web Technician:

  • Perform 1st and 2nd Line Support and where required assist with 3rd Line Support
  • Record details of IT incidents and service requests and working to resolve these
  • Work on client site for extended period
  • Out of hours support
  • On Call as required
  • Install and manage AWS, Azure and Google Cloud servers/services
  • Liaise with colleagues and clients and assist with the specification and development of websites
  • Troubleshoot website issues
  • Install and manage web servers
  • Install and manage AWS, Azure and Google Cloud web related servers/services
  • Assist with the setting up and management of Domain Names

The systems to be supported:

  • Physical / Virtual Microsoft and Linux Server environments
  • Microsoft Office 365, both In-house and Hosted - Excellent knowledge required
  • AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Email Security and Web Filtering
  • Remote Access and VPN, Anti-virus and Security Management
  • Firewall, Router and Switch Management
  • Assist with Web Scoping, Planning, Development, Management & Maintenance
  • Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
  • Domain Name Management
  • Websites and Information Portals

Skills & Experience Required:

  • MS Windows 7 and 10, Latest Versions of MS Server including 2008, 2012 and 2016, Latest Versions of MS Office, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Group Policy
  • Linux
  • Virtualisation – VMware and Hyper-V
  • TCP/IP
  • Email Security and Web Filtering
  • Anti-virus solution
  • Firewalls, Routers and Switches
  • Preferably a working knowledge of web technologies including .NET, ASP, C# and PHP
  • Shopify, Wordess
  • AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
  • Driving licence and vehicle are required for business travel

  • Ability to work alone and as part of a busy team.
  • Excellent organisational skills & high attention to detail.
  • Good written English ability and ability to spot typographic errors.
  • Design flair with pride in your work.
  • Good verbal and listening skills for effective communication with the members of staff and clients at all levels via telephone, email and in person to understand their needs.
  • Able to work under pressure or to tight deadlines.
  • Well-presented, professional but friendly approach to business.
  • Flexibility in duties.

In return, the IT Support & Web Technician can expect;

  • Highly Competitive Salary; £24,000 - £27,000 (Dependent on Experience)
