They are experts in in detection technology, providing cargo and vehicle inspection systems and services for ports, borders, military, high-threat facilities, and checkpoints.

As part of their strategic growth, they are looking for an Electrician to contribute to the production of all Cargo security systems routing, wiring, assembling and installing electrical and electronic components to a very high standard.

Key Responsibilities of the Electrician:

  • Route, wire, assemble and install electrical and electronic components in a mobile truck system and fixed or gantry rail systems, such as main junction and terminal boxes, main control switch panels and CCTV cameras, according to specifications
  • Cut wire to specified lengths, using wire cutters
  • Cut plastic sleeves and slip sleeves over wire ends to insulate connections
  • Crimp terminal eyelets and lugs to wire ends, use of hand or machine crimping device
  • Route, tie and attach wire to terminal points, according to layout, using hand tools
  • Connect wiring to accessories, such as relays, circuit breakers, plugs, switches and solenoids
  • Conduct functional and continuity tests of electrical assemblies, components, wire harness, and plugs, using ohmmeter, test lights and other electrical testing instruments

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Qualifications are not essential – just relevant hands on experience in a rapidly changing environment
  • Attention to detail and production of a quality item are vital skills
  • Experience of working with 240v and 415v
  • Working with Cat5 cable would be advantageous
