I’m Nathan. The old job description wasn’t working and I’m a bit bored of interviewing people now, so I thought I’d just tell you what it is that I am looking for and what it is we do.
What about the mulah?
Just like the bad sales person said to the prospect straight away. It’s £20k. The commission structure is either very good or very bad depending on if you ask our best/worst seller. It is uncapped though, so there is that.
Is this job remotely interesting?
Kind of, we help companies’ process payments online and as such we come across some weird and wonderful business models, ideas, concepts and some absolute characters to boot.
Am I going to be working with a bunch of ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ wannabee’s?
I hear you; I don’t want that either, so no. We have a 12 week induction into the business where we have weekly challenges for you to achieve in respect to your personal development. Sales are simply an output of those things. We do have weekly incentives for time off and maybe some vouchers/wine/beer but there is certainly nothing crazy to incentivise our sales guys.
Do I have to ‘smash’ the phones all day
I mean, you can if you want and I’m not going to stop you (what kind of go getting middle manager would I be if I did) but I’d prefer you to have a balanced diet of prospecting (calls, emails, LinkedIn).
What type of person do you want Nathan?
Thank you for asking!! People that have a little business to business sales experience with the ability to learn.
Am I going to be stuck doing this forever?
I hope not!! If you're stuck then this has gone drastically wrong for the both of us. There is a clear pathway onto a more SENIOR SALES ROLE.
What else is in it for me? Do you have table football?
No, we don’t. We have a list of things but you’ll have to apply and ask me.
Just apply and have a chat with me, I’ll call you. Applications with a witty retort may or may not be called first.
